Homecoming

The Smithton PTO will be manning the Peach Stand this year at the Homecoming.  The Commercial Club generously donated $750 to the PTO in order for us to pay for the filing fees for the 501(c)3 status.  For our thank you to them, we will need volunteers to help man the peach stand.  We are looking for volunteers on Friday, July 25th and Saturday, July 26th.  The time frames are from 4pm-11pm each night.  If you are planning on attending the homecoming and can spare and hour or two, we can definitely use your assistance.  Please contact Michelle Held to sign up: Michelle@kiliancorp.com or Meggjojo@aol.com.
Back to School Registration

PTO will have a table at registration in July to hand out the calendars along with other information for the coming school year.  If you are available to assist, please let us know.  The dates are July 16th and July 17th.  The time slots are: 9am-11am, 1pm-4pm, 5pm-8pm.  Please contact Michelle Held to assist: Michelle@kiliancorp.com or Meggjojo@aol.com.

Teacher Luncheon

Thank you to all the parents who donated to the Teacher Luncheon.  Along with the parent donations and the PTO budgeted funds we were able to provide the same luncheon as in the past few years!  The teachers were treated to Papa Vito's pasta, salad and bread on May 9th.  Also, a big thank you to Angie Sanders for donating two ice cream cakes for dessert.  Thanks to the volunteers who helped set up, clean up and decorate for the event: Brenda Caravia, Angie Sanders, Kris Barschak, Michelle Jones(daughters Monique and Hannah) and Connie Schanuel.

Summer PTO Meetings

The July 10th PTO meeting will be held at the Smithton Park under Pavilion #1 at 6:30 pm.

We will have the registration signup sheet and also the peach stand signup.  During registration, the PTO will be selling the PTO Cougar Calendars not the School Tool Boxes.  The Tool Boxes have been put on hold until next year due to ordering deadlines that we didn't meet.  Kris has picked up the Cougar Calendar and said that it is awesome!!  Thanks Kris for all  your hard work on the Calendar!!!!

The August meeting will tentatively be held in the school cafeteria at 6:30pm. 

Child care will not be available for the summer meetings, but will return in September.



Goodsearch/Goodshop.com

There have been many more stores added to the Goodshop site in the past two months, please check them out.  Our total dollars earned so far is $83.00.  Thanks for all your searching and shopping to help out the PTO.  Please continue to use the site over the summer, every penny helps!


Scrapbook Event

We had a great day for scrapbooking on May 3rd.  We are planning  two more dates for the 2008-2009 school year.  We hope everyone had a great time and enjoyed the event.

Fun Spot Skating

Thanks to all who came out to skate on April 18th.  We had our biggest turn out in a long time.  Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and even a few more parents were skating.  We look forward to two more fun skate days next year.



Calendar

There's still time to order your calendar for the 2008-2009 school year.

If you haven't done so yet, please send in the photo release form, even if you are not ordering a calendar. 

If you need to order a calendar, please contact Kris Barschak at Barschak@mchsi.com.

We are still accepting pictures for the calendar.  We would like any parents who took photos at class parties/plays/events to submit pictures.  Also, any photos from sporting events, music events, club events, etc would be greatly appreciated for the calendar.  Send those pictures to Kris as well.


Market Day

Sales for the year have been great.

Thank you to all who have placed orders and to those that helped with the unloading process and pick up process.

You have until July 22 to place your Market Day order and the pickup date will be July 29 at Happy Days from 4:00 - 6:00 pm.  Anyone interested in helping, please contact Michelle Held for details.

Thank You Kathy Wayt for securing the location for the PTO. 

Please tell family and friends who may order from other schools that we have sales available over the summer, many schools do not have summer sales.



TOOL BOX CANCELLATION

Due to unforeseen time constraints we will not be able to offer the Toolbox Kits this year (school supply boxes). We are very disappointed and we hope that this will not cause any inconvenience to our parents. We do wish to offer them next year.
